Today, in the evening, went to Sai Mandir for breaking fast(as I do it on every Thursday). Looking at Sai Baba's majestic idol, I finally lost my control and started weeping. For the only fact that Sai Baba really hears and fulfill Tiny, Small, Big and any wish that I make. Feels great to be his favorite disciple. :-) I passed Graduation without any interruption. I got admission in MCA too. Not very easily but yet in better conditions than what others have gone through around me. And after getting admission, I went to Sai Mandir in 3rd week of July. I thanked Sai for all the blessings that he gives me even when I don't ask for it (every time). And I asked for one more favour- to send someone whom I love with heart with me in the new college. But later I realized that this is not going to happen and let's challenge life. Yesterday, went back to Sai Mandir to pray for a friend's admission who was really struggling from last many days. And she got it today. Now there's nothing that I need more in life. At least for now. :-) Humans are very selfish and mean. Haha!!! And not only she, I have 3 other classmates of Graduation too with me in this new college. And what can be more beautiful and real than this? I don't think that anyone is as happy as me, today. :-)
Indian education system is something that is talked about whenever the drawbacks of India are discussed. When I began with the procedure for giving the entrance exam for MCA admissions in my last semester of Graduation, the only thing that stayed in my mind was- "I will study as much as possible, bring more marks than my senior so that I make it sure that I go in the same college he is studying in". As I was fond of that college. I still don't know why. Haha. Kabhi kabhi pehli nazar mein hi pyaar ho jaata hai, sirf ladki se hi nahi, college se bhi. :-) I didn't study alone, I made it sure that all the classmates giving exam with me will also get the same college as mine or any other that is as good as mine. After the CET scores were out, I was satisfied with the marks I scored. Little did I know that our Education system is less about the potential a student shows in the entrance by showing his logical, mathematical and computational skills but more about the caste and region he belongs to.
I read the Information brochure and got to know that until and unless I'll not have a Domicile certificate, I can not proceed with the admission procedure. My world fell like a crashing missile. I never ever thought that after scoring the kind of marks I dreamed of, I will have to see this day. Domicile Certificate is meant to prove that you are staying in the particular state from last 15 years, you are an Indian and your age is correct. Can I get the answer of why do I need to prove that I live in Maharashtra for perusing Post-Graduation in the state? The marks that I scored didn't have any value? What logic does it carries that a person scoring good marks is eligible only to study in the state if he has been associated with its residency from last 15 year? And why to demand such impossible kind of terms? A decade and a half. Huh!!! We call India a secular and democratic country, but why does our Education system reflects only regionalism and racism?
After this, I went to Tehsildar office to get my Domicile Certificate in my hands so that I get admission in MCA without any interruptions. There, a Congress Corporator met my mother and said,"Arre, main bana ke deta hu na. Hum yahaan k Adhyaksh hain. 15 din mein ban jayega". And as my mother was already in high blood pressure because of this sudden eruption in our smooth life, she started dealing the whole Domicile certificate making process with him. He kept on delaying the things and I and my mother kept on running for 4 months to his office. And when my mother finally shouted at him, he said,"My agents are not doing it because they feel it inappropriate to benefit an outsider before our own Maharashtrians. And even I feel the same". I and my mother were shocked. This guy intentionally kept on delaying our certificate so that the last date gets passed and an outsider does not take a seat of his fellow Maharashtrian. How shocking is this! Finally I and my mother started running ourselves for getting this work done. The Tehsildar of our area cooperated and I got the document submitted at ARC on time. Finally breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Then, the Seat allotment list for CAP round 1 was shared on DTE's site. When I checked it, they gave minimal seats to the people belonging from Other Migrated States and Open category. 50% of seats were already reserved for those not falling in OPEN category. Now, why does children belonging to these caste are given reservations? They don't clean Rajput's and Brahmin's toilets and utensils anymore. This is something that they did many decades back. Why are they given priority today? In my college, the cut off for OPEN category ended at 84(out of 200 marks) while there is a student belonging from some reserved category scoring just 4(out of 200 marks) and getting admission. Some deserving students from OPEN category are still struggling for admission while the racism in our Education system has given admissions to dumb students scoring just 2% in the Entrance test. Why do they take Entrance test then? What's the point of conducting it? And how can anyone of us say that the particular college is excellent in terms of students and studies? In my college itself, a student scoring 125 got allotment through CAP round and even a student scoring 4 marks got(due to reservation scheme). Of what level the atmosphere of my classroom will be? Dear Indian Education System, please set levels according to the intellects of the students and not according to their castes.
Fees that a candidate from OPEN category pays is 1,00,000 approximately while one from OBC category pays 40,000 approx. and the one belonging from NT caste pays just 5000 rupees. How much valid is this? But this is what we will have to face for years. In Mumbai University, there's just 19 colleges that provide MCA. The total seats available are 1440. 720 are reserved for these students belonging from so-called backward castes. And in these 19 colleges, the ones having 60 seats reserves 12 seats for admitting students through Donation while the ones with 120 seats reserves 24 seats. And this has become legal in our country as it comes on websites of University that certain seats are booked for Management Quota(substitute word that they have found for Donation). And then our Ministers promise that every children of this generation will be educated and learnt. Bloody Assholes!!! After struggling with my admission in MCA, I have got a clear picture of how Colleges are meant only for Business and are not a bit concerned for any of us and our Education.
I have no more words to erupt all the anger and frustration I have regarding our Education System after going through the whole Education Process. I want something to happen against this. Dear Anna Hazare, I hope you turn effective soon and then take this case as the next resolving issue of our country. :-) Hope!!!
Thanks.
